These are the projects I am currently working on or planning for the coming months. Each project requires ongoing effort. My main goal is to enhance my digital tools or workflows. Follow my blog for updates on these projects.

1️⃣ Document Apple's Liquid Glass UX/UI Failures — In Progress ▶️

What: Apple’s Liquid Glass is the new visual language that Apple will use across it platforms to act as a unifying factore. Read more here. Why? In its current incarnation, Liquid Glass breaks the user experience in many situations. I want to document those cases and see how upcoming Apple OS releases will address those issues. Challenges: There is so many cases, that it would take too long to document those.

2️⃣ Learn Realmac Software Elements — In Progress ▶️

What: I’m working on learning how to use Realmac Software Elements, a website builder. Why? The idea came from the desire to reduce my dependence on another app that I use a lot for building webpages, called Craft Docs. Challenges: not everything is easily ported into Elements, much more manual editing and formatting is required. With this comes more flexibility, though. Finally, I plan to use the ucoming CMS feature of Elements which will require a migration off Cloudflare to a new web hosting service that will cost me money.

3️⃣ Fine tune my reading workflow — In Progress ▶️

Why? My reading workflow is always in flux, thanks in part by the moving landscape of read later services and to my desire to reduce the number of services and subscriptions that I use. What? I recently started using ChatGPT Atlas and worked on a very specific workflow for articles summarizing and analysis and I must say that I’m liking what I’m seeing so far. Also, Craft is about to add a much-improved Assistant which could further help me find the right solution for my reading needs. Stay tuned for me. Challenges: Trying to keep costs down and the number of tools that I use to the core minimum. Did you know that I have a website dedicated to my workflows and toolset?

4️⃣ Create a Craft course — Au Pause ⏸️

Why? I’ve been using Craft since late 2021. I’m very active in the user community on Slack and Reddit. I have built a subscription on Gumroad called The Craft Bible. I have shared a lot of content built with Craft and I’ve put together a newsletter entirely based on Craft. I think there is a void in Craft training for new Craft users as well as for more experimented users. What’s next is to built a many-part course for people to buy through Gumroad. The timing is critical because of the current state of development of Craft: tags are coming soon and I want the course to cover that. Stay tuned for more details. Challenges: creating online courses is time consuming. Revenues are not guaranteed. Craft is still evolving, this lack of maturity might make the course out-of-date quickly.

5️⃣ Revamp my YouTube video production workflow — In Progress ▶️

Why? I want to be more proficient and accelerate video editing process. What? At the center of this project is the plan to buy and learn to use the RODECaster video. It’s not cheap by any mean, and I’m not sure the low number of videos created over a year warrants such expenditure. Beyond buying new hardware, I must revisit my supporting documents in Craft which includes adding Craft tags, updating video description, building a Craft collections. An alternative to this device is to use Screen Studio an app that is gaining in popularity. It is a challenger to Screenflow, an app that I already use. So far, I created a few videos with it and works perfectly well with Screenflow. Challenges: the device is expansive with no guarantee to recoup my investment. Steep learning curve and additional expenses might me required lkike a compatible webcam. For the other tasks, I expect to have completed the process by early fall 2025.

6️⃣ Replace Mailbrew with a viable alternative — Planned ⏸️

What? When Mailbrew came out, the world was so different, Twitter was still all the rage and I was looking for a way to gather content from all digital corners of the web. Mailbrew was filling that need by allowing me to build tailered email summaries. Why? Sadly, Mailbrew was sold and the new owner failed to deliver on its promise of improving the service. It’s now the time to look for an alternative. Digest might be the one. Challenges: Digest might not survice in the long run. Not all features might not be available. Time consuming for little return. Might not fit well into my reading workflow. I recently tried a new feature from Inoreader called Email Digest but I came to the conclusion it wasn’t the right fir for my needs as reported in this quick review.

7️⃣ Experiment with MCP and API in Craft — Planned ⏸️

What? Craft is adding support to MCP, a nascent standard for interacting with apps with AI requests using a standard mechanism. Why? AI can add another dimension to using Craft via MCP and APIs. I can see some potential use cases like summarizing my writing activities in recent weeks or asking for ideas about potential new articles based on my recent readings. Challenges: MCP is still in its infancy and not especially easy to understand. Also, Apple Shortcuts will probably be involved and I don’t like writing Shortcuts.
